# Gallery: Albany celebrates Halloween on Solano Avenue

Halloween was in full swing on Solano Avenue one day early.

While many East Bay neighborhoods held trick-or-treating the weekend before Halloween, Albany took advantage of the holiday falling on a Saturday this year by kicking off the festivities Friday.

[Abrams Claghorn Gallery](https://www.albanyscanner.com/2026/08/28/community/albany-abrams-claghorn-gallery-asks-for-help/) offered face painting, photo booths and several Halloween-themed sets. Nail salons, restaurants, cafes and boutiques opened their doors to ghouls, goblins, ghosts, princesses, dinosaurs and more, handing out sweets to students after school. 

[Five Little Monkeys](https://www.instagram.com/fivelittlemonkeystoys/?ref=albanyscanner.com), which sponsored the event, distributed toys and trinkets.
