Countdown to launch (and a timely bonus read!)
Hello! Just wanted to share several quick updates about our progress at Albany Scanner as August gets going.
First: We want to welcome Allyson Aleksey, Albany Scanner's first contract editor and reporter. You'll be seeing her around town. We're so thrilled to be working with her.
Second: We're excited to report that we've secured a new $10,000 match for a new member campaign. We'll tell you more in the coming weeks. In the meantime, if you're considering becoming an Albany Scanner member, we hope you'll keep this on your radar.
Finally: Launch is imminent, with regular publication by mid-August.
In the coming weeks, we'll bring you coverage about schools, elections, arts and culture, housing and more. And we definitely want your news tips.
In the meantime, Allyson noticed that registration for Albany's Fall Activity Guide starts Tuesday (tomorrow!) at 9 a.m. Some options fill up fast.
