Gallery: Albany celebrates Halloween on Solano Avenue
Trick-or-treaters roamed the avenue after school dismissal the day before Halloween.
Halloween was in full swing on Solano Avenue one day early.
While many East Bay neighborhoods held trick-or-treating the weekend before Halloween, Albany took advantage of the holiday falling on a Saturday this year by kicking off the festivities Friday.
Abrams Claghorn Gallery offered face painting, photo booths and several Halloween-themed sets. Nail salons, restaurants, cafes and boutiques opened their doors to ghouls, goblins, ghosts, princesses, dinosaurs and more, handing out sweets to students after school.
Five Little Monkeys, which sponsored the event, distributed toys and trinkets.
Here's a snapshot of Solano Avenue's trick-or-treating through the eyes of one jack-o'-lantern.
