Mads Tolling is bringing his wide-ranging musical talents to stages around the Bay Area, including a performance Sunday at Herbst Theatre.

Arts columnist Andrew Gilbert traces the unlikely journey that brought the Danish-born jazz violinist to Albany.

"I remember going down for dinner on Solano and having a real good feel about this place," Tolling told Albany Scanner. "I thought, I could live here."
